Overview

This is the ideal course for any firearm enthusiast who is interested in learning about the double stack 1911 style platform, the SIG SAUER P211. If you’re a first-time gun owner or have used striker fire guns in the past. This class will provide the necessary skills and information necessary to make the transition easy to the SIG SAUER P211.

Experience Requirements

We require the successful completion of Handgun 102: Basic Handgun Skills or equivalent before attending this course. The student MUST know and be able to demonstrate how to safely load, fire, and unload a handgun as well as have demonstrated competency in working from a holster and performing reloads. Open to all. Background checks are required, unless the student has a permit to carry from his/her state of residency or is a sworn law enforcement officer, corrections officer, private licensed security, or US Military personnel. Documented completion of a basic handgun safety course is required.

Course Outline

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Understand the components of the P211.
• Demonstrate the safe use, handling of a SAO firearm.
• Demonstrate how to safely draw out of a holster.
• Demonstrate how to defeat the safety on a single action only firearm.
• Demonstrate how to properly unload, load, and reload the P211.
• Demonstrate how to properly grip the pistol to ensure grip safety is defeated.
• Understand the benefits and capabilities of the P211.
• Be capable of easily transitioning from a striker fire firearm to a single action only firearm.
• Understand how to disassemble, clean, lubricate, reassemble and functions check the P211.

Equipment List

• This course only covers the P211. Students may bring their own P211 or have one provided for them.
• 3 magazines
• Magazine pouch
• Dominant side, hip-mounted outside the waistband belt-mounted holster
• Please wear long pants with pockets and belt loops, a sturdy 1.5" belt, closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals), and a crew neck (T-shirt) or button-up shirt (no low-cut neckline)
• Hydration system
• Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Recommend electronic hearing protection or earmuffs and earplugs
• Loading devices (optional)

Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH location

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 100 rounds pistol
• For Epping, NH courses, non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required - call for clarification
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping and New Smyrna Beach facilities only
