VTAC Nightfighter Carbine

Overview

VTAC Nightfighter Carbine course will focus on use of the tactical carbine in vehicular engagements.

As with the VTAC Streetfighter Course, the majority of the course will put you off balance and require you to think on your feet, or belly, or back. Most shooting will be under limited or no-visibility conditions.

Experience Requirements

VTAC Carbine 1.5 or completion of SIG SAUER Academy's Rifle 104: Advanced Rifle Operator and Bullets and Vehicles. 

Course Outline

This is a physically demanding course requiring many movements, rolling on the ground, up and down quickly, kneeling and stretch positions. The instructors will demonstrate the use of many common weapon lights and allow you to use some of their gear as well so you can try before you buy that expensive weapon light.

Equipment List

• Carbine with Tactical Weapon Light
• Pistol preferably with light but not necessary since you will also have a hand held light
• Safe holster for rolling and crawling in and out of vehicles
• Hand held light
• Headlamp or small light for administrative purposes
• 4 Carbine magazines
• 4 Pistol magazines
• Knee pads
• Gloves
• Clear eye protection
• Ear protection
• Notebook with pencil or pen
• Good attitude or the best you can muster

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 1200 rounds of rifle ammunition and 400 rounds of pistol ammunition
• For Epping, NH courses, non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping facility only
