Overview

This is the ideal course for any firearm enthusiast who is interested in learning about the AK style platform. This class will provide the necessary skills in order to understand how to effectively use this style of rifle.

Experience Requirements

We require the successful completion of Rifle 103: Rifle Operator or equivalent before attending this course. The student MUST know and be able to demonstrate how to safely load, fire, and unload a rifle as well as have demonstrated competency in working the safety lever and performing reloads.

Course Outline

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Understand the components of the AK platform
• Demonstrate the safe use, handling of the AK platform
• Demonstrate how to efficiently use the safety lever
• Demonstrate how to properly unload, load, and reload the rifle
• Understand the benefits and capabilities of the AK

Equipment List

• This course only covers the AK Rifle. Students may bring their own AK or have one provided to them.
• 3 magazines
• Magazine pouch
• Dominant side, hip-mounted outside the waistband belt-mounted holster
• Please wear long pants with pockets and belt loops, a sturdy 1.5" belt, closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals), and a crew neck (T-shirt) or button-up shirt (no low-cut neckline)
• Hydration system
• Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Recommend electronic hearing protection or earmuffs and earplugs
• Loading devices (optional)

Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH location

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 200 rounds rifle
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping and New Smyrna Beach facilities only.
