Overview

The Singleton CQB course is intended to build the students understanding of angles of attack and angles of search as well as build confidence for those who will be operating alone or with a family member.

This course will give you the tools in your toolbox to understand how and when to use varying techniques while operating alone. During this course you will also work as a two man team to aid in understanding areas of responsibility when entering a structure. This course will be dynamic, thought provoking, and will definitely expose any glaring shortcomings in your training repertoire.

Experience Requirements

This is an intermediate level class. It is strongly recommended students are graduates of the VTAC Carbine 1.5 or Pistol 1.5 courses prior to registering. At minimum, the student needs to know and be able to demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, foundational marksmanship skills, and working from a holster.  This is a physically demanding course.

Equipment List

• Carbine or pistol (we will not use your live weapons very much but they need to be available for some scenarios)
• Flashlight for firearm (your choice)
• Handheld flashlight
• Gloves
• Sturdy belt
• Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
• Clothing suitable for training in any weather on outdoor ranges (long sleeve shirt recommended)
• Wraparound eyewear (ensure you have clear lenses)
• Recommend electronic hearing protection or earmuffs and earplugs
• Good attitude (not mandatory but will make the course a positive learning environment)

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 200 rounds for your primary firearm, 100 rounds for your secondary firearm
  • Academy will supply UTM rounds to be used during this course. UTM rounds included with course tuition.
• For Epping, NH courses, non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required - call for clarification
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping facility only
