Overview

The VTAC Carbine 1.5 Course is intended to push you past your previously thought comfort zone.

During this course you will get a better understanding of the performance of your AR-15. 

Experience Requirements

This is an intermediate level class. The student needs to know and be able to demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, and foundational marksmanship skills. Student must have attended either VTAC's Basic Carbine, SIG SAUER Academy's Rifle 103: Rifle Operator, or an equivalent course.

Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

• Shooting from the support side shoulder
• Malfunction Clearances
• Calling your shots
• Mechanical Offset
• Driving the Gun
• Pistol Transitions

• Sling (Preferably VTAC)
• Box of Band-Aids
• Black Marker
• 4-30 Round Magazines
• Eye and Ear Protection
• Holster and Serviceable Pistol w/ 4 Magazines
• Moderately good to great attitude

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 1,400 rounds rifle, 100 rounds handgun
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping and New Smyrna Beach facilities only
