Overview

Every drill in this course will involve one or all of the following: static multiple target engagements, move-stop and shoot, shooting on the move, multiple target engagement on the move, and running to positions. The drills are designed to challenge the individual shooter to improve their performance based upon their individual skill set.

Experience Requirements

Must have successfully completed Handgun 103 or equivalent. This course is designed for intermediate and above students. Students will be required to rapidly move between shooting stances and shooting positions on multiple targets. Drills will incorporate moving and running at distances up to 20 yards. 

Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

Students who successfully completed the 2-day course 'Handgun 104: Introduction to Defensive Handgun Skills' prior to February 2024 will have fulfilled the prerequisites necessary to enroll in any courses that require successful completion of either the 1-day 'Handgun 104: Advanced Handgun Skills' or the 1-day 'Introduction to Defensive Handgun Skills' course.

• Utilize SIG SAUER Academy Principles of Firearms Training
• Focus on the Fundamentals of marksmanship
• Apply Safe Gun Handling in any environments
• Recognize and apply different sight pictures
• Implement calling their shots better
• Focus on efficient economy of motion
• Use trigger manipulation isolation drills
• Apply better target to target transitions
• Use single hand shooting
• Perform move, stop, and shoot
• Perform shooting on the move

Equipment List

• Handgun, major caliber 9MM, 357 SIG, 40 S&W, 45 ACP (semi-auto center fire pistols only - revolvers or .22 caliber pistols are not allowed)
• Dominant side, hip-mounted holster or dominant side, belt-mounted holster
• Magazine pouch
• 3 magazines
• Sturdy belt at least 1.5" wide
• Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
• Clothing suitable for training in any weather
• Hydration system
• Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Recommend electronic hearing protection or earmuffs and earplugs

Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH, New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Colorado Springs, CO locations.

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 800 rounds pistol
• For Epping, NH courses, lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
  • Non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required at times in NH - call for clarification
• For Florida, Non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition required - call for clarification 
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Website purchase of ammunition is available only for our Epping, NH facility
