SIG SAUER M400/M16/M4/AR15 Armorer Certification (16 Hours)

Overview

This is a hands-on program that teaches and guides each participant through all armorer operations, step-by-step with the instructor. Active participation coupled with question and answer periods provide a supportive learning environment for maximum retention of the material. The course is also well suited for law enforcement armorers to design their agency's own maintenance and inspection program. A three (3) year certification is issued upon successful course completion.

Experience Requirements

This training course is specifically designed for current or prospective agency firearms armorers, firearms retailer staff, and responsible citizens. Any non-agency participant must have completed Rifle 101 or an equivalent introductory rifle course that ensures safe gun handling skills prior to registering.

Course Outline

• Identification of SIG SAUER M400/AR15 rifle features
• Examination of the M400/AR15 safety systems
• Comprehension of rifle cycle of operation 
• Disassembly and assembly procedures of lower and upper receiver
• Installation and adjustment procedures of sights
• Implementation of inspection procedures
• Troubleshooting methods
• Performance of function checks
• Application of acceptable maintenance methods

In order to receive a certificate of completion, students will attend 16 hours of training and pass a written test. Students will demonstrate proper disassembly, assembly, understanding of the operating systems, and proper parts replacement.
