SIG SAUER Classic Line Pistols Armorer Certification (16 Hours)

Overview

This hands-on program focuses on the mechanical functioning, complete disassembly/reassembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and field repair of these pistols. Instructors will guide students through each step while encouraging active participation to ensure maximum retention of the material covered. Law enforcement armorers will also gain the knowledge necessary to develop a maintenance and inspection program for their department. A three (3) year certification is awarded upon successful completion of written and practical exams.

Experience Requirements

This training course is specifically designed for current or prospective agency firearms armorers and firearms retailer staff. Responsible citizens may also attend provided they have completed training in safe handling and use of firearms, such as SIG SAUER Academy Handgun 101 or equivalent experience.

Course Outline

• Identification of SIG SAUER Classic Line pistol features
• Examination of the Classic Line safety systems
• Comprehension of pistol cycle of operation 
• Disassembly and assembly procedures of slides, frames and magazines
• Installation and adjustment procedures of sights
• Implementation of inspection procedures
• Troubleshooting methods
• Performance of function checks
• Application of acceptable maintenance methods

In order to receive a certificate of completion, students will attend 16 hours of training and pass a written test in addition to demonstrating competency in the hands-on portion of training.
