Overview

Reflexive Shooting II is focused on a progression from Reflexive Shooting I. Drills are executed with and without sights, and shooters will differentiate aiming techniques based on individual skills, target size, and distance. The shooter will be brought to new adaptive levels of speed and accuracy.

Experience Requirements

This  is not an entry-level class.  At a minimum, students must have completed SIG SAUER Academy’s Reflexive Shooting course. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please read the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

Students must complete the course, be physically able to stand and move for an 8-hour training session, and shoot 450 rounds safely and successfully into a target between 2 and 15 yards. They must also be proficient at the loading and unloading procedure, demonstrate the ability to manually lock a pistol slide to the rear, and perform a 3-point safety inspection.

Course Outline

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Safely apply the skills to perform reflexive shooting techniques
• Develop their ability to aim reflexively
• Demonstrate the ability to engage multiple threats at close range reflexively
• Expand their understanding of the applicability of reflexive shooting
• Identify where and when appropriate aiming techniques apply
   

Equipment List

• Pistol or revolver in one of the following calibers: .380, 9MM, .357SIG, .40S&W, or .45ACP (no other calibers allowed). SIG highly recommends compact or full-size handguns (no subcompacts) (semi-auto center fire pistols only - revolvers or .22 caliber pistols are not allowed).
• 4 magazines minimum
• Dominant side, hip-mounted holster or dominant side, belt-mounted holster
  • Holster Requirements:
    • Must completely support the pistol.
    • Must not collapse once drawn.
    • Must fit properly to the belt. 
    • When holstered, the trigger guard must be completely covered. 
    • Must be oriented in a safe direction for drawing. 
    • “Trigger Finger” style retention devices are not permitted.
    • Must be able to draw and holster one-handed; Support hand cannot be utilized.
    • Holster compliance is at the discretion of the Instructor. If a holster is deemed to not comply with safety requirements, a loaner SIG SAUER pistol and/or appropriate holster will be provided. • Magazine pouches
• Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide
• Footwear  suitable for rapid movement and turning
• Casual, comfortable civilian clothing ideal for training in any weather
• Hydration  system
• Sunscreen and bug spray (seasonal- optional)
• Hat with a brim (optional)
• Wraparound  eyewear, polycarbonate lenses, or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Earmuffs and earplugs
• Tuition includes a free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses, and hearing protection at the Epping, NH, location.

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 450 rounds pistol
• For Epping, NH courses, non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required - call for clarification
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping and New Smyrna Beach facilities only
• Frangible is NOT required at the New Smyrna Beach, FL location
