Overview

This course takes you from foundational understanding to live‑fire application using modern night vision systems and infrared aiming technology. You’ll get hands‑on exposure to equipment setup, device selection, helmet integration, and the nuanced considerations of running both rifle and pistol platforms under night vision.
 
Once on the range, you will perform a set of rifle and pistol standards to capture both time and accuracy capabilities. Following this cold assessment, you will begin to build essential skills through structured, progressive drills, starting with static fundamental work and advancing into dynamic movement and engagement techniques. With expert guidance and carefully curated exercises, you will learn how to adapt, problem solve, and identify targets when visibility is limited and the margin for error narrows.

Experience Requirements

Open to all. Successful completion of Handgun 104 and Rifle 104 or equivalent is mandatory. Proof of training and/or credentials must be submitted during registration.

Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum firearms handling skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

Course Outline

Upon successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:

• Understand and select a night vision device to meet their individual needs
• Properly mount and adjust a night vision device, and helmet
• Understand application and limitations of night vision
• Rifle/Pistol considerations when using night vision
• Perform fundamental level pistol / rifle skills while using night vision
• Properly mount and zero infrared aiming devices
• Conduct both passive and active engagement techniques
• Clear malfunctions while under night vision
• Practice target identification techniques, and limitations
• Actively engage targets while applying dynamic movement techniques

• Night vision device and NVD mount
• IR aiming device
• Rifle 
• Semi-automatic pistol (Red dot optic and white light highly recommended)
• Kit 
• Suitable footwear
• Clothing suitable for training in any weather
• Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Recommend electronic hearing protection or earmuffs and earplugs

Tuition includes free loan of firearms, helmet, NVD equipment, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH location

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 1,000 rounds rifle, 500 rounds pistol
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping, NH facility
