Overview

This course is physically intensive and structured to place students in high-stress physical scenarios that challenge and evaluate their marksmanship under pressure. Instructors will select specific drills from a predetermined pool, based on range availability and training objectives. Drill performance will be scored, and top performers will be recognized on student leaderboards. A comprehensive list of drills will be provided in the student guide. Additionally, outstanding performances on core drills may be highlighted on Academy social media platforms.

Experience Requirements

This is an advanced level class. The student must be able to demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, foundational marksmanship skills, and working from a holster. This course is physically demanding and will require an intermediate level of physical fitness. Students will be expected to move implements that weigh up to and more than 125lbs over distances of up to 50 yards. Long distance movements (up to 1 mile) will take place throughout the course.

Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

Course Outline

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• Demonstrate recoil mitigation techniques to enhance accuracy while at elevated heart rates
• Demonstrate refined trigger control techniques while at elevated heart rates
• Demonstrate and utilize alternate shooting positions 
• Demonstrate understanding of individual optics and necessary holds to apply at known distances
• Demonstrate techniques to efficiently move physical fitness implements to known locations at various distances
• Develop buddy-team techniques to efficiently navigate strenuous physical tasks

Equipment List

• Rifle with sling and optic; at least 3x magazines (.300 BO/5.56/7.62x39)
• Pistol with holster (level 2 retention recommended); 3x magazines
• Plate carrier w/ pouches (weighted training vest will suffice)
• ‘Assault pack’ style backpack (3-day pack)
• Suitable footwear
• Clothing suitable for training in any weather
• Hydration system
• Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Recommend electronic hearing protection or earmuffs and earplugs
  
  Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH location

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 150 rounds rifle, 150 rounds pistol
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping and New Smyrna Beach facilities only
