Executive Protection Skill Builder: Surveillance Detection Operations (16 Hours)

Overview

Designed to build upon the foundational skills learned in the Executive Protection Operations Course, this two-day skill builder focuses on the operational aspects of the EP mission and introduces surveillance detection techniques. Day one consists of performing advance work to include route and site surveys. Upon completion of an Operations plan, the Detail will prepare for and conduct a realistic low risk EP Operation in the local area. The scenario will involve both foot formations and motorcade work and include surveillance detection. This is a physically and mentally demanding course requiring long days and maximum student participation. Students should prepare accordingly.

Experience Requirements

This is an advanced level class. Successful completion of the SIG SAUER Academy Executive Protection Operations Course is required to attend this skill builder. The student needs to know and be able to demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, foundational marksmanship skills, and working from a holster. This is a physically demanding course.

Course Outline

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• Explore the fundamentals of executive protection operations
• Use of force in the protective environment
• Conduct refresher protective walking and driving formations
• Understand and establish defense in depth
• Discuss surveillance, surveillance detection, and counter surveillance
• Protective walking and driving formations
• Discuss the importance of advance work and site survey development
• Conduct a practical street exercise

• Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
• Business casual outfit for street exercise (collared shirt/suitable pants or female equivalent)
