This class enables students to teach at their own agency or unit on various employment techniques of the ballistic shield. Topics covered in this course will include shooting with a shield, rescue techniques, team movement, threshold clearing, hallway movement, and navigating stairs.
Students should be law enforcement or military and they should have completed a Law enforcement level pistol instructor class.
NOTE: Class size is limited to 12
Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum handgun skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
In order to receive a certificate of completion, students will be required to demonstrate proper safe gun handling and use of a ballistic shield in any environment through 16 hours of training. Students will demonstrate proper application of the fundamentals of shooting and weapon manipulations in a variety of situations utilizing a ballistic shield adhering to specific target standards established by the SIG SAUER Academy.
Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection.
