Select Fire Instructor

Duration 

This course is designed for military and law enforcement personnel who operate select fire weapon systems.

This course is not weapon specific and can accommodate any pistol caliber or 5.56 select fire system. Both instructor and shooting skills will be taught and evaluated.  The course will also cover select fire program development and management.

Prerequisite 

Student must have attended a 3-day carbine or sub gun operator's course.

Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

  • Range management and safety considerations
Required Equipment 
  • Sub gun (rifle or pistol caliber)
  • Gas mask
  • Tactical sling
  • Combat optic (optional)
  • 5 magazines minimum
  • Pistol or revolver in one of the following calibers: 9MM, .357SIG, .38SPL, .357 Magnum, .40S&W, or .45ACP
  • 3 magazines or 4 speed loaders/moon clips/speed strips minimum
  • Belt mounted, dominant side concealment holster or duty rig
  • Magazine/ammunition pouches for each weapon
  • Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide
  • Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
  • Casual, comfortable civilian clothing suitable for training in any weather (unless training in duty uniform)
  • Notebook
  • Sunscreen and bug spray
  • Hat with a brim
  • Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
  • Earmuffs and earplugs

Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection.

Ammo 
  • Estimated round count: 1,500 rounds sub gun (rifle or pistol caliber), 100 rounds handgun
  • For Epping, NH courses, non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required
  • Ammunition is available for purchase at the Epping facility only
