Covert Carry and Micro-Pistols

Duration 

The ability to discreetly carry a firearm, in everyday life, in all environments can save lives.

In this class students will use micro-pistols to explore safe and proper concealed carry techniques, gain defensive pistol skills, and engage in close proximity tactical and defensive drills for use in everyday life.  Students will have the opportunity to undergo a personal equipment evaluation to optimize and personalize their covert carry techniques.

A SIG SAUER P365 high capacity micro-pistol, magazines, and holsters will be provided for course use at no additional cost if needed.

Prerequisite 

This is not an entry level class.  At a minimum, students must have attended Conceal Carry Pistol or equivalent before attending this course.

Course Outline 
  • Safety concerns and practices while carrying concealed
  • Selecting concealed carry equipment specific to micro pistols
  • Presentation of the firearm from a concealed carry positions
  • Defensive pistol marksmanship fundamentals
  • Close proximity shooting techniques for violent encounters
  • One-handed operation
  • Multiple shot techniques
  • Utilization of cover
  • Seated positions
  • Pistol inspection and maintenance
Required Equipment 
  • Micro compact semi-auto pistol in one of the following calibers: .380, 9MM, .357SIG, .40S&W, or .45ACP (examples: Sig Sauer P365, M&P Shield, Kahr PM9, Glock 43, etc.)
  • Minimum 3 magazines, more recommended if possible
  • Belt mounted, outside the waistband holster
  • Belt mounted, inside the waistband holster
  • Pocket holster (optional)
  • Ankle holster (optional)
  • Magazine/ammunition pouch
  • Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide
  • Concealment jacket, vest, or button up shirt (open front)
  • Concealment sweatshirt or t shirt (closed front)
  • Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
  • Casual, comfortable civilian clothing suitable for training in any weather
  • Hydration system
  • Sunscreen and bug spray
  • Hat with a brim
  • Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
  • Earmuffs and earplugs

Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH location.

Ammo 
  • Estimated round count: 300 rounds pistol
  • For Epping, NH courses, non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required
  • Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping facility only
