Overview

Under the guidance of highly skilled long-range shooting instructors, students will better prepare themselves for the next level of training by reviewing minute of angle and milliradian, fundamentals of marksmanship and scope manipulations. Much of the class is spent on the range conducting live fire exercises, friendly competitions, and practicing skills learned in Precision Scoped Rifle 101.

Experience Requirements

Graduate of the three day PSR 101 - Precision Scope Rifle course or have an equivalent skill level (this is an intermediate level course).

Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

Course Outline

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• Practice adjustments based on current atmospheric influences on external ballistics.
• Assess scope setup and function while conducting live fire exercises.
• Develop understanding and ability to properly adjust scope for impact shift on demand.
• Refine the shooter’s fundamentals of marksmanship.
• Practice positional shooting with scoped rifle.
• Demonstrate cleaning and maintenance of scope and rifle. 
• Apply marksmanship fundamentals to successfully (with accuracy and precision) hit designated target(s).
• Maintain correct shot “process” for each shot issued. 
• Record relative and important data in issued data book.
• Analyze target and make necessary scope adjustments to correct shot impacts.

• Precision scoped rifle
• Rifle scope with minimum 3x18 magnification power (Exceptions can be made, coordinate prior to signing up for class)
• MATCH GRADE AMMO
• BIPOD
  • If using a SSA loaner rifle, a bipod will be supplied.
• Spotting scope (optional)
• Rangefinder (optional)
• Rifle cleaning equipment (optional)
• Field notebook and pencils
• Clothing suitable for training in any weather
• Hydration system
• Sunscreen and bug spray (optional)
• Hat with a brim (optional)
• Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Earmuffs

Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH and New Smyrna Beach, FL locations.

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 200 rounds match rifle
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping and New Smyrna Beach facilities only
• If you bring ammunition for a loaner rifle in Epping, it must be factory loaded .308WIN Match
• If you bring ammunition for a loaner rifle in New Smyrna Beach, it must be factory loaded 6.5 Creedmoor

Precision rifle systems are available for loan from the Epping facility with advance reservation. If you bring ammunition for a loaner rifle, it must be factory loaded .308WIN Match.
