Night Vision 101 (8 Hours)

Overview

Modern night vision enhances an operator’s ability to perform their job, if properly utilized. Instruction lead by our cadre of elite former Special Operations soldiers will ensure you have the proper training to select and employ night vision technology.

Experience Requirements

Restricted to current military/law enforcement. Rifle 104 or equivalent is mandatory. Proof of training and credentials must be submitted during registration.

Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum firearms handling skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

Course Outline

• Select and utilize current dependable equipment.
• Properly mount and adjust a night vision device.
• Understand practical application and limitations of night vision.
• Properly mount and zero infrared devices.
• Effectively identify and engage a target utilizing night vision. 
• Properly employ their firearms in conjunction with night vision.

Equipment List

• Helmet
• Night vision device and NVD mount
• IR aiming device
• Rifle 
• Semi-automatic pistol (Red dot optic and white light highly recommended)
• Kit 
• Suitable footwear
• Clothing suitable for training in any weather
• Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Recommend electronic hearing protection or earmuffs and earplugs

Tuition includes free loan of firearms, helmet, NVD equipment, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH location

Ammo

• Estimated round count: 480 rounds rifle, 50 rounds pistol
• Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only
• No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time
• Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping, New Smyrna Beach, and Colorado Springs facilities only
